Proteome analysis
Parasites are organisms that live in or on a host organism. There are three main classes: ectoparasites, helminths, and protozoa, such as louse, roundworms, and Sarcodina, respectively. Understanding the parasitic nature of these organisms is important for various reasons, such as fighting parasitic diseases like malaria. Proteomics provides a strong tool to understand the parasites' underlying biology and the infection they cause.
If you’d like to learn more, we are happy to discuss your project and help you get the most out of your parasite analysis.
Our experts are ready to help you with your parasite research. Ideally, we set up an online meeting where we get to learn about your project. Most parasites have only been subjected to limited research compared with other organisms, such as mice, so we will investigate what proteomics databases for bioinformatics are available, how much of the proteome can be found, and the quality hereof before our meeting. We can also use your FASTA files if you have performed genomic or transcriptomic studies.
If you need an estimate for your project, we are happy to help. We encourage you to request an initial free consultation to assess which proteomics approach fits your research aim.
By booking a meeting, you agree to our privacy policy.
Different methods can be required to extract the proteome, whics is dependent on the parasite class, when performing the sample preparation of parasites. Biogenity always uses Standard Operating Procedures and provides you with the methods used to analyze your samples, providing transparency.
Biogenity’s team and its partners work with the highest standards to ensure the best quality handling and analysis of your parasite samples. We collaborate with carefully selected proteomics laboratories for the analysis of parasites, ensuring that every aspect of the workflow is executed by specialized personnel.
We pride ourselves on offering some of the best equipment on the market. Our collaborating proteomics laboratory has some of the latest equipment from Thermo Fisher Scientific, ensuring a deep coverage. If you’d like to see the complete platform list, follow this link.
When analyzing parasites, you can sometimes have the challenge of limited material. At Biogenity, you benefit from the latest generation instruments for mass spectrometry by Thermo Fisher Scientific and a laboratory specializing in low input samples. So, whether you have limited material or want deep proteome coverages, we got you covered.
Data analysis is where you get the overview of your parasite-based proteome analysis. You will receive an easy-to-follow report describing the data analysis and results hereof, step-by-step, together with a folder containing all tables and figures. To ensure that you have the material needed, we always provide a vast number of figures and tables.
Biogenity’s data analysis is much more than simply a data analysis. It offers an insight into what biology is, e.g., potentially activated or deactivated in the different conditions, without the hassle of postprocessing the data. Our team does it all: data filtration, outlier testing, variance plotting with PCA, clustering, and the statistics - and that is just with the statistical data analysis.
When your parasite-based protein analysis is ready, we deliver it directly to your inbox. Your data and reports are easy to access and secured with encryption and password protection.
You can receive your sample leftovers sent by courier, or Biogenity can safely destroy them after project completion. It is entirely up to you.
Partnering with One Tree Planted, we want to work towards a brighter future with better treatment for diseases and a healthy planet to enjoy life. For us, our children, grandchildren, and the generations to come.
Biogenity donates a dozen trees for every project delivered to support local communities, reforestation in the Amazon rainforest, and reduce CO2 emissions. See how we are making a difference together.
It is important to us that you get the most out of your experiment, which is why we always offer a post-consultation where you can ask all your questions about the results. Together, we ensure that you have the best prerequisite for your further research. The consultation can also be used to explore the next step, whether you are looking to expand the project with additional omics studies or validate the results.
