Proteomics

Proteome analysis

A large-scale study of proteins offers various insights to many research questions. Proteins are a vital part of all organisms, and studying the proteome opens up for investigating and understanding the biological systems or/and reactions. Protein profiling is an essential tool in many important research areas such as biomarker discovery, phenotyping, personalized medicine, and drug discovery. Proteomics is an important part of mapping system biology and can also answer research questions, such as ligand binding or elements in protein complexes. At Biogenity, we are ready to help you with your proteomic study.

If you’d like to learn more, we are happy to discuss your project and help you get the most out of your proteomic analysis.

Sample preparation and Mass Spectrometry

Tailored workflows with mass spectrometry

The wide range of opportunities with proteomics can require some customization to give the best insight. At Biogenity, we will discuss the different methods and result hereof with you, so you get a clear picture of your possibilities. Together we find the correct workflow for your research question.

Sample preparation for proteomics

Proteomics can be done on a wide variety of different samples. At Biogenity, we offer a wide range of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to adjust the sample preparation to your sample type. We always share our SOPs with you, so you know precisely how your sample has been prepared to, e.g., replicate the experiment.

More than 10.000 protein identifications for discovery

At Biogenity, you have different options for the sample analysis, and we will guide you through the options to find the approach that fits your requirements. We provide you with different options, from the budget-friendly to state-of-the-art deep proteome coverages, where protein identifications can reach +10.000 depending on the samples. We do both Data-dependent and Data-independent proteomic analysis. Our instrument options go from the Q Exactive Classic to the Orbitrap Exploris 480 and the Orbitrap Eclipse Tribrid mass spectrometers, all from Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Data analysis, including reports, tables, and figures

Team of experts in data analysis on proteomics

At Biogenity, we can perform the data analysis for you, allowing you to spend more time understanding the biology in your samples. We do everything from finding outliers to generating diagnostic models, and our team consists of experts in statistics, bioinformatics, and Machine- and Deep Learning (Artificial Intelligence methods).

Visualization of your proteomics analysis

Biogenity's data analysis includes tables and figures ready to be put into presentations and articles and an easy-to-follow report explaining how the different plots relate to your data, which can address critical points. We also uncover the regulated proteins and put them in a biological context for you to interpret. You can, of course, customize the data analysis to fit your need and research aim.

Interactive plots to highlight signaling pathways

With our bioinformatic data analysis, you will also get interactive plots that allow you to explore the signaling pathways that are enriched in your data. It lets you take the regulated proteins into perspective, showing which biological pathways or biological processes are potentially up or down-regulated. This helps you get a good understanding of what is happening in the different conditions.

Bioinformatical data analysis of biological fluids

Bioinformatics allows for much deeper data analysis of your degradomics to identify pathways, biological processes, molecular functions, cellular components, and kinases that are changing in your data. The bioinformatic data analysis includes enrichment analysis, comparative figures, and network mapping.

Plant a tree with Biogenity and One Tree Planted

Partnering with One Tree Planted, we want to work towards a brighter future with better treatment for diseases and a healthy planet to enjoy life. For us, our children, grandchildren, and the generations to come.

Biogenity donates a dozen trees for every project delivered to support local communities, reforestation in the Amazon rainforest, and reduce CO2 emissions. See how we are making a difference together.

Post-consultation and discussion

It is important to us that you get the most out of your experiment, which is why we always offer a post-consultation where you can ask all your questions about the results. Together, we ensure that you have the best prerequisite for your further research. The consultation can also be used to explore the next step, whether you are looking to expand the project with additional omics studies or validate the results.

What you can expect:

  • Explanation of the different steps in the sample analysis
  • Discussion of the data
  • Explanation of the different steps in the data analysis
  • Q&A to the report
